NOTE: To perform the evaluation, you must group steam traps in similar batches, taking into account the following:
Each batch must be formed by steam traps of identical characteristics, type of application, and type of failure.
Note: The Masoneilan formula is a very reliable and conservative method of calculating leaks in steam traps, admitted by UN (United Nations Organization) for allocation of carbon rights in CDM project (Clean Development Mechanism) – Kyoto Protocol.
